With the iOS 18.4 update, Apple is introducing its advanced artificial intelligence, Apple Intelligence, to Switzerland in the Italian language. This innovation, integrated for free into the latest iPhones, promises to revolutionize how users interact with their devices, offering advanced and personalized features.
What is Apple Intelligence?
Apple Intelligence is an artificial intelligence system developed by Apple, designed to provide users with intelligent and personalized tools through the use of generative models and personal context. Unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in 2024, this technology will be available in Italian starting in April 2025 with the iOS 18.4 update.
Key Features
Writing Tools: Apple Intelligence offers tools for rewriting and proofreading, helping users improve the quality of their text. Additionally, it can generate summaries, key points, tables, and lists from an article or text.
Image Playground: This feature allows for on-device image generation based on descriptions provided by the user. Images can be customized with styles such as animation and sketch. In the Notes app for iPad, users can transform hand-drawn sketches into detailed images.
Genmoji: Users can create emoji-style images by typing descriptions or selecting people in photos. These Genmoji can be added to text messages and shared via the Messages app or other supported apps as stickers or Tapback reactions.
Enhanced Siri: The virtual assistant Siri has been updated with advanced capabilities thanks to Apple Intelligence. Now, Siri can provide more natural and contextually relevant responses by leveraging the user's personal context. Furthermore, Siri can assist in device usage by interpreting what is shown on the screen.
Mail and Notifications: A section called "Priority Messages" has been added to the Mail app, showing the most urgent emails. Notifications, meanwhile, feature a "Priority Notifications" section that highlights the notifications deemed most important to the user, potentially including a summary of the message.
Photos: The Photos app includes a feature to create personalized Memories by providing a text description of what you want to show. Additionally, users can search for specific photos or videos by description or keyword, and Apple Intelligence can identify specific moments within video clips.
Availability in Switzerland
With the release of iOS 18.4 scheduled for April 2025, Apple Intelligence will also be available in Switzerland in the Italian language. This expansion will allow Swiss users to take advantage of all the advanced features offered by Apple's artificial intelligence, enhancing the user experience of their devices.
